Located at Sawai Madhopur Rajasthan
Ranthambore National Park is bounded to the north by the Banas River and to the south by the Chambal River.
It is named after the historic Ranthambore fortress, which lies within the park.
Famous for Bengal Tigers
Ranthambore National Park was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1957 and in 1974 it gained the protection of "Project Tiger".
It got the status of a National Park in 1981.
Three big lakes – Padam Talab (meaning Lake), Malik Talab, and Raj Bagh – are similar turquoises studded in the vast forest that abounds with aquatic vegetation including duckweeds, lilies, and lotus.
